The twine is rough and so the pom pom stayed put. We simply tied twine around a stick from the yarn, then threaded the twine into the center of the pom poms. Now that you have your pom poms ready, let’s dive into the craft! Pull it tight – you’ll feel it sink into the groove and fit snuggly.Īnd then pull the two sides apart – your pom pom will pop right out of the pom pom maker!Īt this point you can trim any loose strands or strings that might be out of place. Once you have cut all the way around, use a small separate piece of yarn to tie around the groove. Using small sharp scissors, cut up through the center of the yarn – there is a groove in the tool to help guide you in this step, as shown. Once the second side is wrapped, close it as well. You’ll start on the inside and then just fill in all over. Now close the arms you’ve been wrapping and open the other two arms. Then you’ll want to end your wrapping with your yarn strand on the side of the arms away from the center of the tool. I use a pom pom maker and it makes such perfect pom poms!!įirst you open two arms of the pom pom maker and wrap yarn around them both at the same time, wrapping them together. Such a soft wool yarn!īefore we dive into the craft project, I wanted to show you how I make my yarn pom poms – the key is to use a Pom Pom Maker! SO worth it! Just think of all the craft projects you can make with them! I was able to browse JoAnn online and order all the colors I needed for my project, and they are also carried on Amazon. THINGS!! Today I’m to tackle this fun Pom Pom Craft Project:įor the pom poms, I used a new line of yarn from Red Heart Yarn called Chic Sheep by Marly Bird – it has a great weight and feel, and you know that I am LOVING all the color options!!
